Could I be Pregnant?

Any time that you have sex there is always a chance for pregnancy. At different times of the month throughout your cycle that chance can increase or decrease. Because sperm can live in a woman’s body for a couple of days it is impossible to know for sure what your chances might be at any given time.

Many women assume that if they are using contraception, they cannot become pregnant. However, no type of contraception is 100% effective and the chance for pregnancy is never eliminated if you are or have been sexually active.

One of the most common signs of pregnancy is a missed period. While pregnancy can cause a missed period, it is not the thing that could cause it. However, if the woman has been sexually active, the possibility of pregnancy should not be ruled out.

Pregnancy Tests

A good indication of pregnancy is a pregnancy test. However, it is important to note that pregnancy tests are only and indication of pregnancy. Only a medical professional is capable of diagnosing a pregnancy. If you have had a positive pregnancy test, consider taking an additional test or scheduling an ultrasound with a medical professional for verification. If you call our center, we can set an appointment to verify your pregnancy test results. In some cases, women have gotten positive results on a pregnancy test without actually being pregnant. While this is rare, it should still be considered as a possibility.

If you have had sex, there is always a possibility that you are pregnant. Our center can provide a free and confidential pregnancy test or retest. Our pregnancy center can also provide or refer an ultrasound to verify your pregnancy. Call today, we are here to help you sort through your questions confidentially.
